Zoo Palast
Zoo Palast is a historic cinema located in Berlin's Charlottenburg district, near the Zoologischer Garten. Originally opened in 1957, it was designed by architects Paul Schwebes, Hans Schoszberger, and Gerhard Fritsche as part of the 'Zentrum am Zoo' complex. The cinema quickly became renowned for hosting the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) from its opening until 1999, serving as the festival's main venue during that period. After a comprehensive renovation, Zoo Palast reopened in 2013, restoring its 1950s charm while incorporating modern amenities. Today, it features seven screening rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Dolby Atmos sound systems and 4K projection, offering a blend of classic elegance and contemporary cinematic experience.
